Recipe: Winter Cocktails

Last year Ana and I decided to come up with different winter inspired cocktails and talked about it during our first podcast. This year we wanted to bring them back and post the recipes in this section in case anyone wants to try them for their own holiday parties! 

Spicy Chocolate 
1 cup (8 oz) milk
2 tbsp of unsweetened cocoa powder
2 tbsp of sugar
1/4 tsp of vanilla extract
1 dash of salt
1/4 cup (2 oz) Chila Orchata
1/4 cup (2 oz) Tequila
1 jalapeño

Infuse tequila with jalapeño previously to making the drink or muddle a jalapeño with the tequila. If you decide to muddle the jalapeño with the tequila strain the liquor prior to mixing with the hot chocolate.
Warm the milk and add the cocoa powder, sugar, vanilla extract, salt, and the 2 oz of Chila Orchata. Once this is mixed slowly stir in the tequila. Garnish glass with shaved chocolate.



Dirty Naughty Eggnog
1 cup (8 oz) Eggnog
1/4 cup (2 oz) Kahlua
1/4 cup (2 oz) Chila Orchata

In a glass mix the Kahlua and Chila Orchata (rum based drink).
Add the eggnog to the liquor mixture while stirring so that theywill blend together.
Transfer to a mason jar. Sprinkle drink with cinnamon.


Caramel Apple 
1 cup (8 oz) Apple Cider
1/4 cup (2 oz) Toasted Caramel Whiskey
1/4 cup (2 oz) Peach Schnapps
Simple sugar or any sweetener to taste

Combine the Apple Cider, Caramel Whiskey, and Peach Schnapps in a cocktail mixer. Add desired simple syrup or any type of sweetener. We used brown sugar which gave the drink more body. Garnish glass with a mixture of brown sugar and cinnamon or apple if desired. Add ice and pour drink.
