The bottom line: Cheap drinks, no cover, and free parking!
I think I have said it all with the bottomline. Going out is expensive. I can’t tell you how many times I have dropped a large sum at a bar without thinking much about it only to gag at the random receipts that I find in my bag the next day. There isn’t anything particularly unique or special (nor Irish) about Fitzgerald’s but it does offer things that I greatly appreciate.
Fitzgerald’s is one of the few places in uptown Charlotte that offers free parking (after 5pm) and no cover. They have cheap drinks and plenty of space. They have a big dance floor (at night) and two bars.
I have been to Fitzgerald’s on several occasions. I have been there for an early dinner, for their trivia nights, and very late. And I mean late. The place changes throughout the day. Uptown Charlotte being what it is will have the typical business crowd during the day, the after work crowd during happy hour, diners later, and your typical party crowd later in the night. I have seen a mix of both young and old during the dinning hours. Families with children as well as older couples. As the hours progress the young adult crowd settles in and it turns into more of a typical sports bar atmosphere.
I have eaten their food and it’s your typical pub fare. Nothing special about it and I probably won’t be eating there much (except in the latter hungry stages after alcohol consumption) but I can tell you that the free parking and no cover, and ample dancing floor makes this a place where my friends and I like to end the night on occasion.
